Greetings Bill,
Good to hear that you are back again and
well under way to a full recovery.
This Sunday, like many previous Sundays, had
very little to offer as regards ANZO contacts. I managed to work Brian,
VK5CO, but only briefly.
06:22z G0JWE, Don. 59 with deep QSB. Later
Don called VK4ZD, Bill, on Skype and Bill came on 14293, but to no
avail. Thanks for trying!
06:25z VK5CO, Brian. 55, but gradually
fading out. At 06:40z I had no copy on Brian.
06:38z PA0SDZ, Les. 56, gradually
increasing. Les will attend the German ham convention in June and we
plan to meet. Others attending?
06:54z G3LUW, Brian, 59, fine signal here.
We both called CQ ROAR, but were unable to raise any ANZO stations.
06:57z PA3RB,
Romke. 58-59. Living near Les, PA0SDZ. Not Rotarian.

From Roar President John Maier : -
Dear Fellow
ROAR Members,
I am
saddened to pass along this information about Laszlo. He passed away
Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 17:45 local time at home in Portugal.
Laszlo was born in Hungary on August 16, 1929; he would have been 78 this
summer. About a year ago, during an operation to correct a
ruptured appendix, doctors found cancer, eventually identified in his colon.
I have spoken with his two sons who live in the Seattle,
Washington, USA area who related several aspects of Laszlo’s life in
Rotary. He joined Rotary in the early 80’s in San Diego, California,
USA, and boasted of perfect attendance during his many years of Rotary.
Laszlo often visited Rotarians’ homes while driving his RV across
the United States and elsewhere.
Further
details will be passed along as arrangements are completed. Of course, you
may send condolences to his wife, Helga.
The address follows:
Mrs Laszlo B Racz,
Apartado 98,
8601 Luz-Lagos,
Portugal 8601.
I plan to
have a “Book of Memories” for anyone to sign at the upcoming Rotary
International Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Should you
wish to include a memory in this book but will not be in attendance, please
send your message to me via email at:
pres@ifroar.org This book
of memories will be given to the family and passed on to Helga As
additional information is received from the family, I will communicate it to
each of you.
Yours in
Rotary, John Maier, W8AUV President 2006-2009 ROAR Dallas, TX,
