Roar Nets December 23 2007
Propagation bad this day. K=2, A=8, Flux
fallen back to 72.
0800z - 0900z Europe - Anzo Net on 14,293
Long Path.
Many thanks to Klaus for the following report
: -
Greetings Bill,
A small net under very poor conditions. It
called for a great deal of patience on part of the participants, - not
least after I felt obliged to step in as a kind of net controller.
08:09z Faintly heard what turned out to be
VK4ZD, Bill, in QSO with VK3KCD, Peter. Sadly, Peter's signals were
never heard in Europe.
Later Bill kindly conveyed
seasons' greetings to/from Peter.
08:27z Heard OH6SM, Martti, working VK4ZD,
Bill, short path. Tried short path myself, but it did not work for me.
08:30z OH6SM, Martti. 57, but only when
beaming towards OH-land. Surprisingly, no snow around Martti's QTH.
08:37z VK4ZD, Bill, in Gatton, Qld. 44/44,
slowly improving. Peaking 56 when net closed.
08:44z PA0SDZ, Les, 55. Les had no copy on
Martti and very poor copy on Bill in Gatton and vice versa.
08:50z G4YZE, Bill. 33. VK4ZD was unable to
copy words and PA0SDZ fared only slightly better.
09:04z OH6SM, Martti, back again after
temporary QRT. Now 56 from the side of my beam.
09:08z G4YZE and VK4ZD finally managed, but
only just. 42 in Gatton and 43 in Bolton.
09:15z PA0SDZ and G4YZE now also managed.
55 both ways.
09:18z VK4ZD now 54 in Bolton.
09:18z G4YZE closed the gate.

Coos had minus 1.8c amd 1 metre of snow.
Vitor doing better with plus 8c and a beautiful
day.
Pertti had to close down due to thunderstorms !
